Job Title: Assistant Manager (Part-Time)
 Hours: 20.5 hours per week
 Pay: £14.50/hour, rising to £15/hour after probation

The Role

We’re looking for a committed and community-minded Assistant Manager to join our team. You’ll work closely with the founder to help run the shop day-to-day and support our brilliant team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Placing and managing orders with our suppliers using Excel

  • Serving customers at the till and answering questions about our products

  • Taking care of daily tasks like restocking, cleaning, and keeping the shop looking lovely

  • Overseeing and supporting employees

  • Managing the day to day problem solving

Who We’re Looking For Someone who:

  • Is passionate about sustainability and low-waste living

  • Enjoys creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers

  • Has some experience managing people or supporting a team

  • Is confident using Excel (basic to intermediate level) — we use it regularly for ordering and stock management

  • Is happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into the daily tasks of running a small, values-driven shop

Important Notes

  • Please include any relevant skills or experience you have in operations management, marketing or business strategy as these extra skills could be incorporated in the role also.

  • The role includes two shifts during the week (one of these finishing at 8.30pm, the other 5pm) and one weekend shift, three out of five weekends. So you would have two free weekends out of every five weekends.
