One Pot Rice

Using that cupboard staple rice and adding seasonal vegetables you have to hand. This simple recipe from our volunteer Louise, uses mostly ingredients found at Get Loose.

Ingredients

  • 150g of rice (we have four kinds to choose from)

  • approx 305ml water

  • 1 tbsp of vegetable bouillon 

  • 1/2 tsp of paprika 

  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric

  • 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper

  • 1/4 tsp of 

  • pinch of salt and pepper

  • sultanas (as many as you like)

  • a red onion sliced

  • 2 peppers / or seasonal vegetables chopped

  • a few leaves of parsley chopped 


    Method

  • Fry off the vegetables with spices. 

  • Cover with water, add bouillon and stir.

  • Add the rice, and cook on low heat, until the rice is done and all water absorbed. (note the time will depend which kind of rice you are using(

  • Add sultanas and parsley.
